Piper's Poodles

Poodles are among the most intelligent and beautiful breeds. They come in three sizes, Standards being the largest at 23"-28" at shoulder, Miniatures which are medium sized at 11"-15" at shoulder and Toys which are the smallest being up to 11" at shoulder.  There are no real tea-cups or giant/royal poodles recognized by AKC, these are just a marketing name. Poodles are very quick to learn and eager to please, because of these traits they were originally used for hunting. Miniature poodles are fun and active dogs which will adjust to most lifestyles and homes. They are people dogs who love attention. Miniature poodles are very outgoing and friendly dogs when kept properly socialized. Poodles are very smart and learn words and human actions very quickly (sometimes to quickly). They are easy to train and not big chewers( If provided with the proper chews and toys & a little training , you should not have any problems with them chewing on your stuff). Poodles are normally potty trained quite easily.  Poodles do very well with young children, they are sturdy little dogs who love to play.

On the outer side of the dog we have their coat, poodles do not shed and are hypo-allergenic. Poodles have hair not fur and people who have allergies to cats, dogs or other animals will not with poodles unless the allergen is to saliva. They do not carry a dog odor. Poodles do need regular brushing and they do require haircuts just like people to keep them mat free. We recommend haircuts every 6-8 weeks or sooner.  Along with typical grooming, good groomers will pull the hair from poodles ears and express anal glands when needed.  Poodles come in several colors and each temperament is a little different to go with their color.  I breed  black , blue, brown, silver-beige as well as silver, white & cream.  I do NOT breed reds, apricots or parti-colors.  Please email me with any other questions you may have about poodles with infants, children, excercise, colors & personalities.

Health  

We take great pride in our poodles. Our first priority when purchasing our poodles is health and temperments. Our poodles come from genetically tested lines and our puppies are sold with a 2 year genetic health guarantee. Testing on our adult dogs primarily include Hips(OFA), Eyes-prcd-PRA(CERF & Optigen), Leg-Calve-Perthes(OFA), Von Willebrands and Patellas .  Not included in our guarantee are health problems that may be caused by environmental factors, for example: allergies, trauma, abuse , neglect and failure to maintain the general health of the dog which includes dogs that are overweight.  Definition/Description of diseases that can effect poodles.

We are not a Puppy Mill* or a Backyard Breeder*. We are hobbyist, always keeping the comformation, temperament and health of our dogs/puppies our main goal.  Always breeding forward to better our lines to produce the best puppy possible in health, temperament & comformation. Puppies are vet checked, wormed and up to date on shots before leaving our home. Our  pet puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract, unspayed/un-neutered dogs are at a greater risk of developing testicle cancer in males and mammary cancer in females. The pros definitely out way the cons in this matter. This is not only to keep the dog at his/her healthiest but also to keep our lines clean from disease.

Our poodles are bred from Champion Bloodlines for Health, Temperament and Conformation. They are beautiful to look at and a pleasure to live with! Temperaments are a major factor when we choose our dogs. Our Dogs and puppies are raised in our house with our children, where they get pre-spoiled with lots of love and attention every day. Our puppies stay here in our home until they are a minimum of 9 weeks old  for proper socialization skills taught by mom and the other dogs.  I am a stay at home mom with our puppies as well as my own kids. Our dogs or pups are never outside kenneled, They are taken outside starting at 6 weeks for potty training basics. We also start them on basic house rules. Our pups are very well socialized and grow up to be faithful companions to approved homes. They are great with children and perfect family additions.  We do not keep or breed dogs with  poor temperments and inturn we can guarantee a happy, healthy,  loving puppy for you. We provide the genetics for a happy puppy,  you must provide the love and social skills to keep the puppy outgoing.

Miniature Poodles are a medium sized dog.  Miniatures are under 15 inches at shoulder(AKC breed standards). Their weight averages 12-20lbs, they are excellent watchdog and their life expectancy is 13-15 years(many live much longer). Miniatures are great with people of all ages, infants to elderly.  Miniatures tend to be the right size dog for any situation, not to large for a house, apartment, condo or your lap and they are also sturdy enough for most children. We occasionally have over-sized  (16-17 at shoulder minis) for adoption.
