We have two Piper's Poodles, Sadie and Cody (sister and brother), who have now experienced two winters in Gaylord, MI. This past winter, we had nearly 190" of snow. Our mini's love the snow, too. They have their own fenced in back yard, and we have had to go out and blow snow from the back yard many times during the winter, or else they could just step over the fence. We use a 48 hp tractor with a 6' snowblower to blow the snow and a front loader to move it. We make wide trails for the dogs and then huge mounds (we call them poodle mountains) in the middle for them to play on. They have a whole back yard of fun....cleared paths for speed, deeper snow for running and jumping into, and their hills to play "king of the mountain". What we do for our dogs smile. Poodles are the perfect dogs for entertaining us humans. They are constantly making us smile and laugh. Isn't that what life's all about? Love Poodles, Love Life!!!

My girl Joy is Austin's daughter. She is a running machine!! We don't have too much snow down here in Louisiana. She runs around the yard, into the house through her little door, up the stairs, down the stairs, jumps from chair to sofa to chair. Then she runs up and down the hall through three bedrooms, jumping on and off the beds then back down the hall races around the master bedroom like crazy jumping onto and over the bed several times. Finally she gets a drink of water, collapses on the bed and goes straight to sleep.

We have two black minatures and my husband also makes a path in the snow for our fur babies.  We moved to Michigan from California.  The first snow our little girl insisted that she did not have to go outside even though her back legs were crossed.  She wanted nothing to do with that white cold stuff that had appeared in her backyard!  We swept an area for her and she wasn't happy but went when we insisted.  Our boy is made of sterner stuff and never hesitated.  Princes are much less fussy than Princess!  Ever since my husband has been making paths for them.  When they come in now from using their paths, they wait patiently to be wrapped in towels and rubbed warm and dry.  "it is good to be Poodle Attendants" to paraphrase the Mel Brooks movie!
