We are
providing a reference for Kim in hopes that others take the opportunity to
experience the joys of owning a “Piper’s Poodle”.
We contacted Kim shortly after we lost our wonderful miniature poodle Kasey, after 15 years. Kasey was such a beloved member of our family; we were devastated when she died. We knew we needed some time to grieve, but soon realized that we needed some new joy in our life. We contacted Kim and spoke with her on the telephone many times. After each discussion, we felt more confident that we had found a breeder who could help us out. We asked all the right questions of Kim, to ensure that we were doing everything possible to get a quality poodle, in terms of temperament, health, and conformation.
Canine love came back into our home on March 10, 2008, when we brought home Sadie, a silver-beige female from the Hootie/Austin litter, and Cody, her silver-beige brother. All of our expectations have not only been met, but have been exceeded with these two “kids”. They have such loving, fun, and unique personalities; are healthy; and have beautiful conformation. Sadie and Cody are extremely smart, learn quickly, and love people and seeing new things. They are excellent travelers in the car and RV. What really makes us feel good about getting the two siblings is the love and respect they have for each other, which they demonstrate every day.
We realize that we have been blessed, because of Kim’s knowledge of breeding poodles, her true love for the breed, her care in raising the pups, and her time spent in socializing them with her wonderful family. Our interaction with Kim, before and after bringing them home, has always been positive. We truly feel that we are a part of Kim’s extended family. She continues to welcome our comments, questions, and pictures that we email to her. Our only hope is that Kim continues her passion so others can benefit like we have.
Best Wishes,
Susan and Gary Curtis
More than happy to give you a reference. Kim is great. As a 16 year
veteran of showing and breeding shelties (long story...got tired of
shedding.etc..) I think I know the right questions and what to look for. Not
everything is a 100% guarantee-- but Kim comes as close as you can get. She is
very detailed in her testing and breeding. Kim and her family spend many hours
socializing the puppies. She even made sure my puppy spent time with her
Standard as she knew I had two Standards.
Kim is the best, not only as a mom of five boys, but the way she

Sure, I'd be happy to provide a reference for Kim Daily.
Background: My wife and I have a pack of four poodles, the two youngest of which we purchased from Kim. We had two toy poodles, a male and female, who lived with us for sixteen and fifteen years, respectively. They both passed on within six months of each other and of course we were heartbroken and missed them both. Out of loyalty to Squeaks and Holly, my wife wanted to wait awhile before getting another dog. For a week she moped around the house at a loss for how to fill her day, since taking care of our two little guys had been a major part of her routine. Finally I couldn't stand it any more and insisted we get another dog. After doing some investigation we found ****** of ***** Poodles and got the oldest of our current pack, Brego. At 2.75 years old, he's a large silver toy who outgrew the toy classification (12 inches at the shoulder and 13 lbs.). He's a great dog with a very retiring personality. Six months after Brego we got Arwyn from a different breeder (recently deceased). She's a petite but feisty little girl at 8 inches and 5.5 lbs. The two of them get along great and Brego lets Arwyn have her own way.
Unfortunately, both Brego and Arwyn wound up with health problems. When we took Arwyn to be spayed we found out that she had a liver shunt which could have eventually been fatal. So she had to undergo surgery to close off the shunt. It was expensive, but there wasn't any choice. The surgery was successful and she is healthy and happy. Brego problem was his left hind knee which would pop out of it's socket. He also had successful surgery and is also healthy and happy.
About a year ago I decided that it might be interesting to add a larger dog to our pack and we started looking for a miniature poodle. My wife, Judy, and I both love the breed and we found Kim. After I sent her an email she called us and we all three spent nearly three hours talking on the phone talking about dogs (and poodles specifically). A few days later we drove up to see her and the puppies from her Jan. 2008 litter. I wanted a miniature who would be on the large side and I didn't really care if he remained within conformity guidelines. We liked Kim and she seemed very knowledgable and personable and the dogs seemed well adjusted, balanced, with good temperaments. While there we became attached to a blue/black male who we have named Strider. His sire is Austin and dame is Hootie. At ten months he is sixteen inches at the shoulder and 23 pounds. He is lively, happy, loving, and well adapted. He gets along well with Brego and Arwyn, although his size makes him a little too formidable for either of them to play with him for an extended time. Even though he is quite rambunctious, he is also obedient, well mannered and he respects Judy and I as his pack leaders. He is also completely healthy with no indications of any issues.
After having Strider in our pack for six months and with everyone getting along extremely well, Judy decided she wanted to add one more to our pack. This time we went to Kim for a silver male who will be on the small side of miniature (about the same size as Brego). We met and bonded with little Shadowfax and brought him home in September. He was the smallest of Kim's July 16th litter but is a very feisty, spirited little guy . His sire is Austin and dame is Daisy. After a little more than a month with our pack, Shadow has completely adapted. His closest bond is with his half brother, but all four of our dogs get along well with little dominance or aggression issues other than natural pack hierarchy.
So, what do we like about Kim:
Both Strider and Shadow are healthy and were well adjusted and socialized when we picked them up from Kim. None of our dogs show any signs of human or dog aggressiveness. In my opinion that's partly due to the effort Kim puts into initial dog socialization, but mostly due to the fact that we set and maintain rules, bounderies, and limitations that clearly establish Judy and I as the pack leaders. Kim gave us a good base to work from, but ultimately the responsibility to make sure our pets are happy and balanced depends on us.
Kim stands behind the dogs she sells and conducts her business in a reputable and responsible manner. She is equally concerned about the satisfaction of her clients and the long term well being of the dogs. She has an on-going interest in the life and wellfare of the animals and enjoys hearing about all their latest escapades. Judy can call her and talk for hours and never feels like Kim is not interested in whatever dog stories she is telling. Many/most breeders, once the client has the dog, have little interest in a continuing relationship/interaction with their clients.
Kim's policy on pet health, neutering, and client satisfaction is responsible and laudable in my opinion. Over the months that we have known her she has related several incidents which highlight and confirm her commitment to client satisfaction and the well being of her puppies. She is responsible in her breeding methods and doesn't seem to overbreed her bloodlines.
Regarding tips on upbringing and training, Kim is helpful but not insistent on "how to do it". Her comments and recommendations on food, vitamins, training treats, toys etc are helpful as well.
I hope these comments have been helpful to you. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask.

From Duane and Mary Gilliam:
Jack turned one (1) year old October 9. We have owned poodles for 25 years and Jack is the quickest learner and has the largest word understanding vocabulary at his age compared to all of our other dogs. His personality is the same as you describe his mother, Calypso, and so bright and energetic . He also likes to think he is the boss, but at the same time is loving and a real Momma's boy. He welcomes everybody and makes them feel very special with all his tricks and kisses. He is a great comedian and loves to make us laugh. Well, we could go on, but would only make a fool out of ourselves as we think he's the greatest! Thank you again Kim, for all you do for the breed and for our wonderful family member and companion, Jack.
